Privacy Policy
This policy explains what PAWPAWLO collects, why, and what you can control. It applies to the PAWPAWLO mobile app, this website, and the scan pages that open when someone scans a PAWPAWLO ID tag.
PAWPAWLO is a brand operated by Rocktech Inc., [REGISTERED ADDRESS], Philippines. We process personal data in accordance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) and its implementing rules.
1. Information we collect
| What | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Name, mobile number, email, city | To create your account, ship your tag, and contact you about your pet |
| Delivery address | To deliver physical ID tags you order |
| Pet profile: photo, name, breed, sex, birthday, weight, temperament, medical notes, vaccination records, microchip number | To display the profile you choose to publish on your tag's scan page, and to run care reminders |
| Device location (only with your permission) | To show nearby vet clinics, pet shops and โ if you switch it on โ other pet owners |
| Approximate location of each tag scan | To tell you where and when your pet's tag was scanned |
| Location, photo and message submitted by a person reporting a sighting | To pass the sighting to the owner of a missing pet |
| Messages you send other users | To deliver them, and to investigate reports of abuse |
| Device identifiers, app version, crash and usage logs | To keep the service working and to fix problems |
2. What is shown publicly on a tag scan page
When someone scans your pet's tag, a web page opens without any login. It shows only the fields you have chosen to make public. By default that is your pet's photo, name, breed, age, sex and temperament notes.
- Every field has its own on/off switch in the app. You can change it at any time, and the change takes effect immediately.
- Your mobile number is shown on a scan page only if you switch that field on. If you keep it off, a finder can still reach you by sending their location and a message through the page.
- Your microchip number and your home address are never published on a scan page.
- If you deactivate or unbind a tag, its page stops showing your pet's details.
3. Location data
Your location
The app asks for location permission only to power the Nearby features. You can refuse and still use the rest of the app โ you'll just be asked to pick your city manually. If you turn on "visible to people nearby", other users see your distance only as a range (for example "within 1 km"), never your exact position, and you can turn it off or set quiet hours at any time.
Scan location
When your pet's tag is scanned, we record the approximate location of that scan and send it to you. We share that location with you, the registered owner, and no one else.
Sighting reports
If someone reports seeing a missing pet, the location and photo they submit are shared with that pet's owner so they can search. Anyone submitting a sighting is told this before they send it.
4. Notifications
We send push notifications for: tag scans, care and vaccination reminders, messages, order updates, and missing-pet alerts for pets lost near you. Each category can be switched off in Settings.
5. Who we share data with
- Delivery partners โ your name, address and mobile number, only to deliver a tag you ordered.
- Payment providers โ to process shipping fees or hardware purchases. We do not store your full card number.
- Service providers (hosting, push notifications, maps, analytics) โ under contract, only to run the service.
- Other users โ only the profile fields you have chosen to publish.
- Authorities โ where we are legally required to, or to protect someone's safety.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and pet data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except records we are required to keep for tax, legal or fraud-prevention purposes. Deleting your account also unbinds your tags โ their scan pages stop showing your pet's details.
7. Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to access, to correct, to object, to erasure or blocking, to data portability, to damages, and to lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. To exercise any of these, contact us at info@pawpawlo.com. You can also edit or delete most of your data directly in the app.
8. Children
PAWPAWLO is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and regular reviews of who can see what. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the National Privacy Commission as required by law.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy materially, we'll notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
